Every time a company - regardless of its size - decides to participate in a fair or exhibition, it finds itself in the need of hiring someone to design and make its stand at that show.

But before deciding who is going to take on the task (be it a business or a freelancer), there are a number of important things to keep in mind that you check with various vendors.

The most common questions we receive from potential clients are the following:

1 - How much can a Stand be worth per square meters?

The stands should not be priced per square meter, as a merchandise by weight. Before indicating a price, whoever is going to do it must consider many factors: what is going to be exhibited, necessary equipment, duration of the event, number of personnel that will be there working, etc.

It is important to be clear about the budget for the rental of the lot and the construction of the stand, plus the staff and stay expenses at the event. A correct balance of these expenses leads to a good proposal.

2 - What is left of the stand for the company, after the event?

The generality is that the stands are assembled as a rental. In other words, the pieces are sometimes recycled or discarded, saving technical elements such as lighting, LEDs, etc.

There are stands that are designed to be reassembled at various events, although that, of course, entails its maintenance and different logistical and operational aspects (transporting the stand once it has been disassembled, storing it until it is necessary to use it again, etc.).

3 - How do you explain what you want?

It is important to be clear about where the company is aiming with its participation in the event. Do you want to display your products? Have a presence? Make a pitch? To sell? With these data, a number of needs can be defined: displays, warehouse, counters, service areas, etc….

A very common mistake when setting up a stand is putting more elements than are needed, and this occurs because the client often does not know "how to order" what his company needs to exhibit.

4 - How far in advance should you request the assembly?

Generally, as soon as registration for the event opens, the exhibitor's manuals can be accessed, which have the necessary information for those who are going to design and build the stand.

The ideal is to consult from the first moment, since designing and carrying out what your company requires can take a long time.

5 - How do you get the public's attention?

Each case is very particular, and depends on the event, what each company offers and what the audience you want to reach is like. One of the aspects to take into account is if the morphology of the stand and generates a different attention to the rest.

You always have to consider that the architecture must be consistent with the image of the company. But in this context, today the technology that can be applied is in itself a distinctive element. Touch screens, video walls with kinectis, immersive projections, augmented reality and a host of applications can be the stars of the stand, accompanying a harmonious architecture.
