What is having a virtual assistant

A Virtual Assistant is a businesswoman who offers her services on a outsourced basis and provides support in various areas, both administrative and technical. In this case, since the VA is a professional, it is not under a dependency relationship. Therefore, it charges its services per hour worked or project and in this way, optimization of costs to its clients.

A Virtual Assistant:

• He brings his experience in different business areas, specialized translations, graphic design, development and maintenance of web pages, general office administration, representations, organization of events among many other specialties.

• He aligns himself with his client, contributing ideas, alternatives and his own vision for the growth and good of both.

• Becomes a micro-entrepreneur in decision making.

For some time now, in Spain you can also count on Virtual Assistants (Certified). I highlight "Certified" because I consider that it is essential that before hiring anyone is informed about their training as a guarantee of professionalism, quality and ethics in the service they intend to hire.

In this article David González delves into the topic of the Virtual Assistant. Before, a few years ago, only "bosses" and big businessmen could boast of having an assistant, secretary or assistant. However, the fact that many people are looking for alternatives to free their time from the more routine tasks, not very rewarding and / or simply not appetizing but necessary, has given rise to a whole new business and category of professionals: virtual assistants.

What is a virtual assistant? Well, neither more nor less someone you hire to do for you everything you want to delegate and that does not require your physical presence. And we would be surprised at the amount of things that can be done without being present. And even more we would be surprised by the amount of things that we could really delegate to other people and of which we do not realize.

If you have calculated how much an hour of your time is worth (for example, calculate what you earn per year for the hours you work, and you can see what your cost / hour is), you will be able to understand the philosophy behind hiring virtual assistants. If we say that each hour of your time is worth 30 euros, freeing up 2-3 hours a day of tedious and not very relevant tasks could bring you a daily saving of 100 euros. If we assume that these tasks have to be performed equally and you hire a virtual assistant to whom you pay 10 euros per hour (there are more expensive and cheaper, then I comment more), you are saving 70 euros a day of your time that you can dedicate to other more productive tasks.

For entrepreneurs and any professional in general, it is a really interesting option that only requires a change of mentality (the most difficult thing). Why am I going to pay someone to spend 3 hours looking for information on the internet when I can? Because in those three hours you can dedicate yourself to looking for more clients or improving the processes and treatment with those you already have, which after all is what makes your business work. Since we are talking about professionals who do not have someone in their company or business to perform this function, a virtual assistant solves many problems.

The trick is knowing who you hire and where. There are companies in India (Brickwork, for example) that for less than 7 euros an hour are capable of doing absolutely everything: writing reports, looking for information, lists, organizing events, booking tickets, writing articles, answering general emails, etc. Brickwork is the type of company that works well if you work in English, since the cost is infinitely lower than the benefits and they are a large company exclusively dedicated to this (there are many more).

For those of us in the Latin American market, the ideal is to look at companies in countries where, in addition to quality, the price per hour is good. In this case, for those of us who work in Spain, hiring a virtual assistant in Argentina or Venezuela is more than profitable. Just do a little Google search to find 3-4 companies with experience in the field. It is the philosophy of the "new rich", dedicate yourself only to doing what is important and what you like, and delegate everything else. I already have a list of things that I could delegate to blog management, RESPECT, etc. I'll tell you more about it when I do a little more research on the options.
