What to do when your business does not progress as you want?

Have you been stagnant, dispersed and not having the results you want for a while and you don't know how to overcome that bump? Having ups and downs is something very frequent and normal in a business, as well as going through the odd pothole. If this is your situation and although you want better results you do not know how to do it, I leave you three alternatives depending on what stage of the business you are in:

1. Apply a proven model / system

If you are just starting out or have been around for a relatively short time, and your problem is that you don't have enough clients or income and would like to at least make a living, something that works very well is learning from someone who has already achieved it. Someone who has a business just like you want it and who does well. A mentor or mentor who can teach you step by step what to do so that you too have those results. This option worked for my business on two different occasions, I hired the person to guide me, changed my business model, took action and had very good results. Both at the beginning and a little later.

It's the fastest way to start getting results and stop wasting time and motivation doing random things. Of course, you have to take into account three fundamental things for this to work and you feel satisfied:

  • Do not try to copy someone else's model, behind what you see there is a lot of strategy and copying without more will not give you results. You have to act, it is useless if you make excuses and do not do what they tell you. If you have hired someone, it is to listen to them, if not, do not bother. This seems silly, but not everyone is capable of simply doing what needs to be done, it is essential that the mentor you choose is someone you trust and that you like the business model they have and teach. It doesn't make sense to learn something that you don't want to put into practice later because in reality you want something else.

2. Improve what you already have with good marketing strategies

Marketing is clearly critical at any stage of your business, but there are times when focusing on marketing (and, if necessary, hiring a marketing consultant) can give you especially good results, and times when another option will help you. For example, shortly after starting my business I hired a marketing consultant (two, in fact) and although they were very good, I was not seeing results. Simply because my business model was not well defined, at that time what I needed was to define my model, not focus on marketing techniques.

However, if you have an established business and you are happy with your model but you have reached a peak and you do not know how to grow, get more out of it and have more income without ending up exhausted, then improve things such as program launch strategies, network advertising social, texts that sell, sales, conversion of your website, increasing the list and the percentage of opening, to name a few examples, could be what you need to take that leap without touching the fundamentals, the foundations. And this is where a marketing consultant comes in.

3. Restructure your model creating something more personalized

There are times when things are going well for you but you don't know how to scale your business, how to make it grow and you see that taking the leap would mean making things very complicated and having an excessive workload or changing to a business model that does not suit you. satisfies so much. ¿So what's the alternative?

In this case, you can think in the short term and improve your marketing to see good results, but it is also essential to think in the longer term so that your business model does not end up burning you out. So it would be time to restructure your business, go back to the foundations and assess your objectives and needs, eliminate what does not work or does not give you as much, enhance what you love and in which you especially stand out and create a new custom model, simpler and no longer based on someone else's system, no matter how well it works.

Now think about what you already have and decide:

  1. I'm fine for now. I've just started and I need a proven step-by-step system. I love my model, but I want to improve the results. It's time to create something more personalized that allows me to grow but also meet other requirements (less complications, more free time…)

Each point requires your strategy and effort. I can help you if your case is 2 or 4, show you my proven system or help you create something personalized. If what you want is to improve advanced marketing strategies, seek help on that topic.
