If there is an issue on which various researchers from organizations agree, it is that they are dynamic and that the only constant is change. And it is that the vertiginous technological advance in a globalized world has meant that organizations have had to be forced to adopt new technological tools and train their workers in the efficient use of them, as the only alternative to survive in the market.

One of these trends is the so-called Telework, in order to analyze this issue and its relationship with productivity I am going to take the Peruvian case as an example.

Recently Jaime Obreros, Vice Minister of Employment, stated that the company gains productivity with teleworking, since the worker will not waste time in the transfer to the workplace, it provides facilities to working mothers for raising children or caring for the elderly, or access to an employment contract for people with some degree of disability.

New technologies make it possible to consult the Internet, Intranet and e-mail from anywhere, without having to be anchored to a cable or a Wi-Fi network.

People who use new technologies as work items outside of a traditional office are called teleworkers and their advancement in the job market seems unstoppable. They are people who carry out their professional activity at any time and place, outside the usual workplace, without being tied to an office table.

Labor consultants, advertisers, salespeople, translators, consultants, doctors, teachers, editors, architects, office workers, etc. New technologies allow them to achieve that much-needed flexibility to adapt to the globalization of the labor market.

Now, people can be productive anytime, anywhere. They can move around the office, sit down with a co-worker or in a meeting. It is even possible to work from home, in a coffee shop, at the hotel or at the airport.

It is a global trend to which our country cannot be on the sidelines, for this reason I agree that teleworking is an alternative for the company to gain productivity and should be promoted in our country.

And it is that the current highly competitive and changing business world mentioned above makes the trend towards the disappearance of physical offices is increasingly stronger to the extent that work coordination is no longer limited to the ordinary day, but to be connected and to be able to act and make decisions at any time. Likewise, another relevant factor is the reduction of costs for organizations, where the cost of maintaining underused physical facilities, added to the unproductive time that workers spend in moving to and from their workplaces, are factors to take into account to stimulate let workers work remotely.

The trend towards the "virtual office" is a reality in many countries of the world, and everything indicates that it will grow and strengthen, in such a way that in the not too distant future the highest percentage of office workers will work virtually, many as they do currently from the comfort of their homes, with the consequent benefits for people, such as being able to spend more time with their families, a fundamental element highly valued by workers.

In this sense, only in those work activities, which by their nature the physical presence of the worker is essential, will be the ones that will remain under the traditional format although with increasing technological support, which will allow them to be more efficient and effective, remaining in their jobs the time strictly necessary, leaving behind the traditional long working hours.
