Introduction.

The human being is a species that has the ability to think, reason and understand the different events that occur during the time that it lives.

The goals that people set for themselves throughout their lives represent in many cases something difficult to achieve because it takes a great effort on the part of each of them to achieve them. There are people who manage to achieve their goals effortlessly; This suggests that they are endowed with a skill that motivates them and leads them to get what they want.

The human mind needs instructions and directions that are clear to it so that it can move, that is, it takes care of doing what it wants when it is desired or indicated. Therefore if nothing is desired, nothing happens.

When some objective is to the liking of people and also motivates them, the mental patterns work in an integrated way and focus on achieving that objective, regardless of the obstacles that may arise.

In the 70's a new term emerged that is known as "Neurolinguistic Programming", which is responsible for studying the mental patterns of people, in this way you can know the mental processes that are used to encode information and therefore the way to think and act.

Neuro-linguistic programming can provide great benefits in the organization, which will be developed in this article.

Definitions.

For a better understanding of neurolinguistic programming, the following will be defined:

  • Neuro: it is the mental filtration that each person has established, in order to process the large amount of data that is collected through the senses, in other words, through the senses the perception of the world is formed (PNL Hoy, 2013).

: Linguistics: form of expression that each person possesses, as well as the words they use and the way in which they come to influence other people (Sanchez Avila, 2016)

  • Programming: they are the behavior patterns, which are the result of neurological and linguistic filters and that govern the way in which ideas and actions are organized in order to obtain some result. Programming in humans comes from computer programming, since, in the same way that software can be replaced, humans can be able to reprogram their behavior patterns (Fundacion Factor Humano, 2011). Neurolinguistic programming: system to systematically prepare (program) the mind (neuro) of the human being in order to communicate correctly what is thought with the actions that are carried out (linguistics), thus achieving congruence and effective communication through a strategy that focuses on human development (Ortiz Rosales, 2013).

Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP).

The concept of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (hereinafter NLP) took shape in 1970, through Professor John Grinder, who was a partner of a student named Richard Bandler. These characters were obsessed with human excellence and often wondered what caused one person to excel at certain activities when others did not.

Grinder and Bandler's concern led them to analyze the appropriate and most efficient behaviors in terms of communication and personal development; With this they developed models using human communication, language and brain function as a basis.

The NLP methodology can model the capabilities of people who are exceptional, so that those capabilities can be obtained by other people. The creators of NLP argue that this technique can treat problems ranging from phobias, movement disorders, depression, psychosomatic illnesses, among others.

According to Bavister & Vickers (2005), NLP is a communication model that focuses on detecting and using thought models that influence the attitude and behavior of people as a way to improve the quality and effectiveness of life.

NLP has a series of techniques that can be used in any aspect of life, either personally or at the organizational level.

The techniques at the organizational level can be observed that these techniques allow decisions to be made more quickly about complex problems, handle situations with high levels of stress, motivation and self-motivation (personal and work team) and achieve the pre-established goals in a time frame.

As for the personal, NLP techniques help to improve the way of thinking and communication that a person or a group of these has.

NLP establishes three elements, which are a fundamental piece in human behavior:

  • The nervous (neurological) system. Language, which is used for both internal and external communication, is verbal or non-verbal. Conduct and behavior that can be learned.

Application of NLP.

People who make use of NLP, can use the skills that you gain as a change agent when working with individuals, groups, companies or government organizations.

NLP explains the learning process in a series of steps that a person goes through when learning; these stages are as follows:

  • Conscious incompetence: the person does not know how to use a certain object or make use of a certain skill. Incompetent Conscious: the person is aware that they do not know how to use the object they want or manipulate or do not have the ability, so they try to learn how to use it. Conscious Competence: the individual knows how to make use of the skills or objects and pays close attention to the process involved in making use of them. Unconscious competence: the person performs the action without being practically aware that she is performing it, in this way she can direct her attention to other things.

Basis of NLP.

Neurolinguistic programming is based on four fundamental aspects, which are known as the “four pillars” according to (Bavister & Vickers, 2005), these are the following:

  1. Results.

In NLP the term result is used. If you previously concentrate on what you want to achieve, there will be a guide that directs all the resources that person has at your disposal to achieving the goal (Duran, 2015).

  1. Sensory acuity.

The term sensory acuity refers to the ability to observe or detect small details, in order to be aware of what is happening around each person. People having different perceptions of what happens, what they hear, see or feel, is also different for each one. However, we can find people who only focus on observing the world, while others focus more on their emotions and feelings.

  1. Behavioral flexibility.

When the results begin to be known and sensorial acuity is used to observe what is happening, the information obtained allows us to make adjustments in behavior, of course, if necessary. If the acts that a person commits do not lead them in the direction they want, it is clear that they must choose another path. However, some people lack flexibility in their behavior and because of this they make the same mistake over and over again.

  1. Understanding.

This is the part that brings people together. Sometimes it happens spontaneously and naturally. Understanding between people is an element that must be improved if relationships between people are to be more effective.

NLP techniques

The most commonly used techniques within NLP are the following:

NLP anchors

NLP anchors are a widely used tool that helps associate a specific stimulus with an emotional state, in other words, anchoring is associating, therefore other behaviors of excellence can be related and linked through specific signals, which can be gestures, sounds, words.

It is called anchor because it is used to create a starter for a particular emotion. Therefore an emotion is anchored to a certain physical stimulus. When an individual is in a powerful emotional state, the subconscious links what is active or in motion with what emotion is present at that moment. An example is music, which causes different sensations that can take people back in time (Mendoza, 2011).

Rapport

This technique is useful in NLP, which seeks to create trust between the person who is speaking and his interlocutor, through the use of gestures, language, tastes, behaviors, among others.

This technique can be applied in business (for example in sales), at a family level (when it is required to communicate something that is important) or at a personal level.

Successful interactions between people are highly dependent on the ability to establish and maintain a relationship.

Physiology

This technique deals with the functioning of the body, that is why it is part of the NLP techniques, since it seeks it, it is to modify the person's mood (usually negative states) for a more cheerful state, that allows you to achieve the goals that the person proposes (Santamarina, 2013).

Eye access

This technique is part of physiology and allows us to identify the emotional representation system, which people use at some point.

The eye movement setting indicates the level of interest or stress that a person exhibits about a topic or situation. This technique is complemented with rapport in order to achieve a higher level of trust in a person.

Detection and change of beliefs.

The beliefs that people have, establish the type of reality that each one has. In this context, there are so-called "limiting beliefs", which cause distortions in the image of the real world. Limitations are self-imposed and prevent realizing or completing an objective, business, study, decision-making, among others.

The aforementioned techniques can be programmed in the mind, to achieve the success that you want to have by wanting both personally and organizationally.

Benefits of NLP.

Some of the benefits NLP provides are the following:

  • NLP helps to change behaviors that people do not like and that therefore become annoying; That is why with advanced strategies and techniques these negative behaviors are suppressed in the short term. Helps people to have a positive and clear perception of themselves and the people around them. Study how it is that verbal and non-verbal communication affects the nervous system of people, so it offers knowledge on this point; Likewise, it teaches how to direct the mind through internal communication, making good use of language. It provides options on how to improve the quality of life of the human being in the emotional, family and health aspects. This is accomplished by studying how people structure their individual life experiences.
  • Finally, NLP teaches that the key to the unconscious is held by each of the people in addition to teaching how we can take advantage of it (NLP Strategy, 2017).

NLP in decision making.

The discipline of NLP assumes that decision-making is a subject of great importance, since it dictates that in each human being there is a basis that is related to decision-making, where a series of processes can be found, which are faster when each person knows himself.

Therefore, the more a person is known, the better decisions he will make.

Although the decision-making process can be considered as something simple, the reality is that many people create problems such as: confusion, anxiety, insecurity (they go over the matter over and over again without reaching a conclusion), stress, among others. The dangerous thing about this is that immobility can be generated, that is, the person instead of making the choice takes refuge in non-decision and not doing (Aprender PNL, 2013).

For employees in organizations, a leader must be a person with strength and who is capable of making decisions without much hesitation, based on the information provided. The basis for this must be that each individual has a well-determined objective, and if she has knowledge of herself, she will have the ability and ability to make decisions quickly.

On the contrary, people who are not suitable to be leaders will make very confusing decisions, they are very indecisive and when they manage to make their decision they change it quickly; they do this because they are not 100% sure of their decision.

Conclusion.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a very important strategy to change people's perspective of themselves. Applied in organizations, it changes the perception of employees and encourages them to improve. In this way, companies, being made up of intellectual capital, increase the efficiency of their processes.

Making use of NLP allows people to program in a positive way and this leads to them reaching their goals. On the other hand, communication improves considerably, facilitating the understanding of the information transmitted.

For better learning, NLP improves the way in which personnel are trained and teaches them to plan more quickly and efficiently. This has a positive impact on organizations, improving their productivity.

Thesis proposal.

Increase productivity in the processes of organizations in the Orizaba region, applying NLP techniques in human capital.
