Types of educational research

I should mention that during these days I have been looking for the types of research that exist in educational research, and I have been surprised that there can be many and that it depends from the point of view of each author. For some authors they consider certain types of research, for others you consider other issues, and for some more they coincide with the same types but observing it from other angles.

Returning to the above, I want to focus only on two authors who I have investigated a little more thoroughly their way of exposing how to carry out educational research, which for my situation is new knowledge, they will take them up and present the different types according to their classification. The authors are Sabino (2000) and Cervo and Bervìan (1989).

Below, in my opinion, I describe the types of research according to the aforementioned authors and I will end by describing the type of educational research that I decide to take up for my educational research project.

What is the type of educational research that suits my subject of study?

The type of research that I return to for my work project will be explanatory.

Why am I taking up that type of investigation?

Because the issue that I intend to address regarding the implementation of ecological awareness in sixth grade children through recycling work, is appropriate to the contributions provided by the two authors, since:

Sabino (2000): mentions that the objects to be studied are already known in a sufficient way and we have a description of them, and in my case my topic is already known and addressed by some other researchers.

Cervo and Bervian (1989): he tells us that he is in charge of finding the reason for the events by establishing cause-effect relationships and my topic aims to address these questions, of why knowing that as human beings we know that we are ending our planet, we do not foster in our habits, awareness to care.

It also mentions that explanatory research tries to account for an aspect of reality and it is the problem that generates the question that requires an explanation, and through the following research it is intended to address this issue, seeking to account for society and children specifically of the current problem of this our reality.
