It could be eliminated if it was oriented, directed and controlled that instrument so effective for the work of the school, as is the collective of Tutors teachers.

Introduction

When we face the group of students we quickly realize that each one has characteristics that distinguish it and that make it peculiar.

This fact undoubtedly puts the teacher before the challenge of assuming the education of each one of them from a position that allows him to adjust his response to the diversity of educational needs that they present, with the aim of the integral development of their personality.

On the other hand, from the position of students, in our school life we have all met teachers and professors who we remember with affection and respect as close, useful, friends, who transmitted us a model, values, rigorous scientific knowledge that we were recreating and discovering with your help.

These experiences in the performance of both roles indicate the importance of accompanying the student in their learning with a close presence that goes beyond the goals in the transmission of knowledge.

More and more in the scientific-pedagogical literature, this role of the teacher is being recognized in each teaching act, but it has stood out even more strongly in recent years in the recognition of the figure of the tutor. In addition, the experiences accumulated in the Cuban university context regarding the work of the guide teacher in the regular day course as well as those related to the role of the tutor in universalization reaffirm them as essential educational figures whose reason for existence is precisely the full individualization of The education.

This constitutes a synthesis of the fundamental aspects of tutoring in the university context, which has been made taking as a reference the elaborations that various authors have contributed in the theoretical order as well as the experiences of teachers ”. We hope that the content we present will be useful to the tutors in the development of their work. We trust that your study will provide new alternatives in this regard.

Either way, it is the daily practice in the classroom, starring them, the most legitimate source of solutions and answers to the problems they face in the university educational context.

What is tutoring?

The development at the end of the 20th century of the so-called «Knowledge Revolution» has generated exponential increases in all fields of knowledge. Systematic knowledge has gradually replaced experience in the development of technology and today sophisticated knowledge and theoretical constitutes the primary route to technical progress.

The possibility of participating in the knowledge economy requires a new set of skills: the individual must be much more qualified than before and also must demonstrate a greater degree of intellectual independence, must be flexible and be willing to continue studying much further of the age in which it has been traditional to do so; imposing an important change in the didactic action.

This should be directed towards a much more autonomous education (where mere declarative learning does not make much sense) that affects other much broader and more comprehensive fields of formation of the student's personality. This means opening up to new possibilities that encourage students to research and discovery, to get to know the external reality and to integrate into a society that is changing day by day and with much broader social demands. From this perspective, justifying the need for tutoring as an instrument at the service of the student is not difficult.

The definition of tutoring giving Marchesi (1986) points out:

“Set of technical supports, aimed at both students and educational agents. Its aim is to achieve the maximum adjustment between individual potential and educational demands in order to achieve greater training for students in their personal development and learning ”.

In this way, tutoring must be understood in terms of aids that must be offered to the student and educational agents in order to stimulate the integral development of their personality. But, is the concept of tutoring understood from the same perspective at different educational levels?

In this sense, authors such as Castillo, Torres and Polanco (2003) point out that this concept will derive various nuances depending on the different educational stages, thus, for example, in Early Childhood and Primary Education the aid will be

oriented towards the insertion of the child in the group, initial school adaptation, prevention of learning difficulties, achievement of family-school bond and optimization of development.

Various social factors intervene in the harmonious and multilateral development of the personalities of children and young people. The direction of the systematic work planned for this purpose lies fundamentally in the pedagogical group of the school from the preschool level to the upper grades. In education, it is necessary to emphasize that the results of educational work are based on the unity of action of the pedagogical group and its cohesion, of which the main responsibility of the tutor teacher. All teachers have the responsibility to influence the training of students: but the tutor teacher has the important mission of coordinating the system of unified influences on the student.

In our country this concern began from the moment of the Revolutionary triumph, in September 1959 Law No. 559 was approved, which establishes a series of norms for the organization and integration of studies whose responsibility is to ensure the unity of the group, carry out political activities and ideological on issues that were not included within the subjects to regulate all this is under the advice of the tutor.

It is the fundamental cell in educational activities and general orientation in its students. At the present time when education has grown enormously, the role of the tutor teacher takes on a transcendental and important place to guarantee quality, so it is necessary to strengthen this work, aims to highlight the role of the tutor teacher, their characteristics and fundamental directions of their work.

Overall objective:

The role of the tutor teacher is complex due to the level of commitment in the integral formation of our students and for whose insufficiencies we are responsible for what the tutor's work demands to obtain satisfactory results if we endorse what Gabriela Mistral raises:

  • If you love your work as time goes by If your punishment is the fruit of love and not revenge If in each class of yours you try to renew yourself If you know how to follow a method without turning it into a slave If instead of teaching, you also know how to learn If you know how to study again what You thought you knew if you know how to instruct and, better yet, educate, if your students yearn to look like you

So, you are Master. Grabiela Mistral

Overall objective

1. Train the tutors of the municipal university headquarters of Physical Culture of Taguasco?

Development

Our Commander-in-Chief has pointed out: “The school occupies the main place within the set of influences that acts in the formation of children and young people. Within each study center, educational work is developed in the classroom, at work and in political-ideological, productive, recreational, cultural activities; that is, the educational work directs the entire school life. The heart of educational work is the work of the teacher. Yes this works wrong; the whole work system will malfunction. ”(1)

Due to the great importance that the tutor has for the students, we decided to do this study to guide how the tutor teacher should carry out the work.

Functions of the tutor teacher.

  • Plan joint activities with the student that can contribute to the methodological development. Systematic attention to the student. Contribute to training and promote values in students. Demand and ensure that they comply with the regulations of the headquarters or work center where it is located. (1) Castro, Fidel. Speech Delivered on July 7, 1981. Influence the fulfillment of educational and school hygiene aspects by leading by example. Participate and control the attendance to activities, mainly to classes and work. Issue the criteria for evaluation in writing and file in your file. Participate in the evaluative cuts as appropriate.Participate in improvement activities in order to keep your knowledge updated. Ensure school retention. <tok2>matic evaluation of the student under her tutoring.

The educational work that corresponds to the tutor must be first of all:

  • An exemplary teacher. High political and ideological level. Deep Scientific and Methodological knowledge.

In other words, a vocation clearly expressed in the love for children and young people, in the knowledge of the laws and regularities of these ages, in their pedagogical capacity that they possess and in the success of the results obtained in the direction of the Teaching-Educational process All this coupled with a high awareness of the social and personal significance of the task performed.

Let us remember Martí when he expresses:

“The teaching, who does not know? Is it above all a work of infinite love? (two)

The tutor must be characterized by:

  1. Pedagogical, Methodological and Scientific preparation. Professional level. Pedagogical Master. Creativity. Experience on the job. The ethical values to instill in their students. Necessary, up-to-date knowledge and development of skills. The application of scientific research methods to solve specific problems. Social performance. Understand responsibility for homework.

In short, the tutor must be the example to be followed, the image to trust and the authority to respect. I quote verbatim.

"Great light that goes ahead and carries forward" said Enrique José Varona when referring to the teacher and in fact to the tutor teacher, José de la Luz y caballero. (3) (2) Martí, José. Complete Works, volume XI. Edit. Social Sciences, Havana, 1975 Page 82. (3) Varona Enrique José. Taken from Ferrer José, Imagen Varona, Universidad de Oriente, Sgt. From Cuba, 1964. p.179.

We can summarize the main directions of the work of the tutor teacher:

  1. Individual knowledge of the student. Attention to Moral formation. Raising the quality of teaching achievement. Joint work with student organizations. Relations with the family.

What would be the greatest satisfaction for a tutor teacher?

I would respond by quoting verbatim: That my students could say something similar to what José Martí said to his teacher Mendive in 1871: ”…… And if I have had the strength for so much and if I feel strong to be truly a man, only to you. I owe you and you. and only from you. it is how good and affectionate I have ”. (4) Martí - José, Complete Works, Volume XX. Social Sciences Publishing House 247.

Conclusions

1. Guide and define the functions of the tutor teacher to obtain positive results at work.

2. Make a correct selection of personnel to face the Educational Teaching task.

3. Direct their work and coordinate with their students towards the achievement of common goals to form in them materialistic scientific conceptions of the world, educate them in communist morals, foster a love of study and develop a communist attitude towards work.

4. Fully develop the personality of the student, demanding a job that corresponds to ensuring the Education of the young generations, personalizing the tutor with their direct support.
