Anonim

The proposal oriented to the development of tourist activities was elaboratedin the Sixto Duran Ballén dam located in the La Esperanza site, in the Quiroga parish, in the Bolívar Canton in the Manabí province; in order to enhance this attractiveness, improve income and therefore the quality of life of the inhabitants of the sector. Interviews and surveys aimed at visitors and residents of the sector were applied in order to define the type of activities to be implemented; By means of which it was defined that sport fishing, boat rides and jet ski rides were the most suitable for such action, it was concluded that enhancing attractions such as dams where the great biodiversity of plant and animal species form a Ideal habitat for taking advantage of leisure in the company of nature and promoting conservation.

Introduction

The creation of the La Esperanza dam brought with it economic problems for a population that was dedicated for the most part to agriculture and livestock, leaving them without land to carry out these activities, despite this a project has not been developed that meets the needs of the populations of this sector from another aspect, in exchange they left a mirror of water that is only being used for the transfer of the inhabitants.

The project intends to give a total change in the appreciation of tourism in the area and the province, enhancing the income of all service providers in the area such as: carriers, food vendors, river boat owners, tourist guides, and other businesses that are involved in it; The place and other auxiliary attractions of the area will be announced nationally and internationally, which guarantees us tourist visits in the future, the best of Manabi folklore will be exposed, through different types of cultural activities that show the world the essence of our ancestors, that has been lost over the years and will try to recover. The fundamental thing will be the inclusion of the people of the sector to develop the project, which will have special training by highly trained professionals in the area of customer service and other aspects, they will also have the facility to sell their products directly and facilitate the commercialization and all activities carried out will not harm the ecosystem and biodiversity of the zone.

The objective of the project is to implement aquatic activities to promote tourist attraction, providing opportunities for economic and social progress to the inhabitants of the Sixto Duran Ballen Dam sector of the Manabí Province.

The main activities to be carried out to achieve the desired success for the implementation are: obtain private financing or from the mayor's office of the Bolívar canton, implement aquatic tourism activities such as sport fishing, boat rides and jet skis, train the personnel of the area to include them in the project and develop a sustainable and sustainable eco-tourism to care for and preserve the natural attraction.

Methodology

The work took into account the reference population of 1500 tourists who frequent the Bolívar Canton and specifically the Sixto Duran Ballen Dam; A non-probabilistic sample was taken due to bias (at the discretion of the researchers) of 100 people among visitors and residents of Cantón Bolívar. The techniques of observation, description, analysis and synthesis of the data collected through surveys were used, the data for the verification of the hypothesis were collected through surveys with its form to the determined population.

Once the tabulation and organization of data from the surveys has been completed, an excellent acceptance of the project and a favorable demand for the services to be implemented is determined, since most of the results point to the implementation of new services in the dam.

The analysis of the results shows us that the first question was about knowing the acceptance of the attraction in the visitors, which showed us that 78 out of 100 tourists think that the dam is very attractive for their perspective, 22 of the rest of the visitors agreed that the place was attractive, results that give a good acceptance of the place to be implemented.

The second question about whether they would be interested in practicing water activities in the dam 75 people think that if they would like, 23 maybe they would and 12 that they would not do it out of a total of 100; This gives us to understand that the implementation of the activities are very accepted by the vast majority of visitors.

Along with the third question of what types of water activities they would like to practice, tourists chose more than one option, seeing the following results that 53 people would like to use the jet ski service, 49 the boat tours, 37 would like to practice fishing sports and only 12 are not interested in any of the activities.

In the fourth question based on the time in which tourists would go to the dam if the aforementioned activities were implemented, the results were: monthly 36, weekly 30, daily, sporadically 11 and never 10, so we assumed a great monthly and weekly attendance, which is what we will base our goals and objectives on once the project is up and running.

In the last question about what additional activities they would like in this place, it was assumed that the majority of people would be interested in more diversity of activities in the place and that they chose more than one answer and they were accepted as follows: typical food court 77, playgrounds 46, multipurpose courts 59 and a camping center in zone 49.

Observing all the results of the surveys, it will be possible to understand that the project for the implementation of tourist services in the Sixto Duran Ballén dam in the province of Manabí has a great acceptance among tourists who visit this attraction and it would be very positive to do so.

Of the total of people surveyed, 76% were men and 24% women, which gives us a visualization of the gender to which the project must be directed a little further, which would be the male, although the popularization of activities in the field should not be ignored. other gender (female).

Finally, about the ages of the people surveyed, 49% were from 18 to 30 years old; 31% from 30 to 45 years old and 20% from 45 to the elderly, which gives us an acceptance in all these and we proved that this place would be for all ages and family members that would be framed in the essence of the project.

After the analysis and interpretation of the results, it gives us a good signal for the interpretation and verification of our hypothesis, which was:

Do aquatic tourism services promote the tourist and economic development of the Sixto Duran Ballén dam?

This hypothesis which has to be verified and through the data that the surveys gave us, plus the projections and management of the project, we can clarify it so that the aquatic tourist services

IF they will help us promote the economic development of the hope dam. Through the implementation of the activities we could achieve the tourist enrichment of the sector in a very considerable way, thus promoting the development of the sector in the economic part, since as the social origin of the project bases it, most of the activities and additional services They will be provided by the residents of the sector who work in this place every day and now they will be part of a tourist work that will serve as much progress in the personal field, in their economy and for their families.

Development

To achieve this objective, the following implementations will need to be carried out: create a place on the banks of the dam, acquire new generation jet skis, acquire equipment for sport fishing and safety for the practice of all activities, partner with the community, conduct training, implement customer service standards.

The administration of the place will be carried out by an engineer in administration of tourist preference trained for this project who will be in charge of the organization of this place in a simple and manageable way; Your goals and objectives which you will have to achieve effectively, including the following:

Position the place in the first place of tourist attraction in the central area of Manabí in the long term of investment recovery (5 years). Obtain a positive result regarding the sustainable and sustainable tourism of the place. Achieve an excellent climate of cordiality in place towards the tourist and among co-workers.

Be in charge of the dissemination of the place to attract the attention of national and international tourists. Include people on the site as mentioned many times.

The place will have the following departments and staff:

The administrative department that is made up of the administrator of the place and a secretary who will be in charge of helping in all matters with the accounting and marketing strategies to be carried out to spread the word and achieve the objectives and goals. In this department, functions such as: keeping accurate accounting, controlling expenses to be made, planning advertising and the strategies to be used, public relations, motivating clients, encouraging national and international tourists to visit the place.

The department of food and beverages will be independent since it will be managed and developed by the people of the sector who will have a space to sell their typical food and beverages and that will be according to the different types of tourists that will arrive at the place. All this under the control and supervision of the administrator of the place who will have to demand a series of parameters so that these can work.

The maintenance department will be handled by a technician who is very soaked in the repair of outboard motors and personal watercraft in this way to be sure of the correct operation of all the vehicles and boats in which it will be operated.

The emergency department and medical unit will be in charge of a person specialized in first aid and must be aware of any eventuality that occurs in the course of the activities to be carried out.

The customer service department must be the key to the success of any project aimed at tourism, because these are the people who are in direct contact with the public and more precisely with the tourists who arrive at the place and therefore must be the most trained to solve problems and be the image of the service of the place.

A clear and well-defined market strategy must be used which helps the project and it must begin with defining a product that will have a striking name for the national and international tourist. You should never forget that, since this will be an important part of the success of the project. place this name will have to cover all the majestic beauty of the place added to the types of activities that will be carried out and the place to which the project belongs.

The objectives that the marketing plan follows are to spread the place throughout the province, to spread the place throughout the country, to get the spread of the site abroad, to increase the profit margin every year as a percentage, and to recover the investment., create and maintain a regular segment of clients who visit us as often as possible.

The product to be promoted will have a series of very interesting characteristics that will combine certain elements of ecotourism and adventure; You will be able to be in contact with nature, in tranquility with the environment and at the same time you will get to know a very little known part of the province of Manabí with many places with little contact with man, and at the same time you will be able to live very new.

Jet skis, boat rides, equipment for sport fishing, boat guides and the most impressive in typical Manabi food will be available, all of this delivered to the tourist under the best climate of cordiality and hospitality possible.

The prices will be established through an exhaustive analysis of costs and benefits and taking into account a slow return on capital due to being a project with a social base or according to how the investment is made.

For the promotion, the most feasible and susceptible market strategies will be applied to the type of tourists who come to visit the canton.

Develop events in which you begin to instill and teach about these activities to new people, carry out direct promotions with colleges and universities, create a competition that takes place annually of all the activities to be implemented, preferably that coincides with a holiday or holiday canton, organize weekend tourist packages for families or groups which include the place and other auxiliary attractions, design promotions for the different seasons of the year.

Distribution channels will be used according to the tourist seasons of the year and the target segment to which it is directed as. Agreement with institutions such as companies, schools and universities, offer the product to provincial and national tourism operators, offer the product to national and international travel agencies, use personnel to sell directly to groups, families and companies in low seasons and commission them.

The jet skis that will be implemented will be the most ecological existing on the market and will only be to start in a number no greater than three and are of a new generation ideal for dead water places in which their centrifugal action operating system helps to oxygenate such waters thanks to the movement that it gives them. The boat rides that are carried out every day in this place, with the difference of their mission, which is currently to move the inhabitants from one place to another and when developing the project it would be with a clearly instructive and tourist perspective. The sport fishing that will be done in the same way, fish that comes out of the water and is not interesting will be returned immediately and a representative specimen will go with the fisherman. And we take into account that this activity is carried out daily as a commercial activity in the sector, which will not influence either.

According to the analysis of the surveys, we can highlight a series of activities that are widely accepted and could be applied in future implementations such as multiple-use courts near the site, mountain biking, creation of a typical Manabi food court, Implementation of children's games, creation of a camping center in the place, construction of ecological cabins for lodging.

Conclusions

The Sixto Duran Ballén dam has an unacceptable tourist flow of tourists, most of them of legal age between 18 and 30 years.

There is very little information on the tourist attractions in and around the dam.

This place is visited by national tourists and in greater numbers for holidays and vacations.

It is necessary to implement aquatic tourism services, plus basic services and other complementary services that will give better tourism activity in the area.

The Sixto Duran Ballén dam has a great undeveloped tourist potential despite being an attraction of great magnitude and consisting of many alternative attractions which must be changed to give the place the importance it deserves for its functionality and beauty.
