Security in your business. What do you need to start?

Anonim

A reader writes me commenting that her main obstacle is the lack of security in the face of new ventures. In fact, she is not the first to comment on something like this. How many times have you turned something over in your head and in the end you have not dared to take the first step? You have an idea in mind, something that you are very excited about, that you really want but you always find a but, right? Whether it's starting your own business, changing careers, or changing something in your life that doesn't satisfy you, you never seem to dare to take that first step.

First tell you that it is normal, when faced with new things, fear and insecurity appear quickly. It doesn't just happen to you, it happens to all of us. Fear is that constant companion that does not leave you in the sun or in the shade. Sometimes it is good, it prevents you from doing crazy things; but usually it is a hindrance, it prevents you from doing what you really want to do. As I have said on other occasions, fear is disguised as excuses that, for you, are powerful reasons not to do what you want to do. When faced with a new venture, some of the most frequent are:

- Lack of motivation

- Lack of security or confidence in yourself

- Lack of experience or knowledge

- Lack of time

Which of these excuses do you make for not starting? To start something new the most important thing is only one thing: want. When you really want to do something, there is nothing to stop you. Even if you are afraid, even if you think you don't know enough, you keep going. And once you have taken the first step and have been part of the way, if you look back you realize that:

1. Your vision is what keeps you motivated. You don't need a special motivation to get started. If you have it perfect and if not, it will come as you progress and achieve things. What really matters is that you keep in mind what you want to achieve and why it is important to you.

2. It's hard to be confident at first. But just like with motivation, as you progress and learn, you become more and more confident in yourself. You learn faster and faster and you realize that what really makes the difference and generates results is to act, to implement what you know as soon as possible. Training is important, but doing it indefinitely as an excuse not to start (because you are afraid you will not measure up) is not going to get you anywhere. Until you start, you do not realize that you are well prepared and what you lack you learn or hire along the way.

3. When you know the "what", the "how" appears. It is one of the most enjoyable parts of daring to start something new. When you know what you want but not how you are going to achieve it and still make the decision to go for it, then the how is presented little by little. Maybe you would like to have your own blog but you have no idea how to start and, suddenly, the article "How to start your blog in 3 steps" arrives in the mail. Or you decide to start your own business and see an ad from a coach or consultant specialized in entrepreneurs. The most skeptical will not believe this, but it happens. As the saying goes "When the student is ready, the teacher appears." The "scientific" explanation? When you focus on something, you start to notice things that previously went unnoticed. Sure you had received a lot of messages about blogs,But you didn't even realize it because it wasn't your goal. Now that it is, you will begin to find what you need to move forward.

4. Each one takes time for what he wants. If you don't have time, you are not interested in taking it out. It is a matter of compromise. You don't have to do it either, you can continue as you are. But if you really want to change, what can you do today to make time?

In my experience, if you really want to move forward with something new, having a vision, a plan, a structure and someone to support and guide you is essential. But the most important thing of all is to be 100% committed to your project. You are?
