Introduction

Identity, perception, training, character, tastes, ambitions, are some of the elements that make up this unique and unrepeatable being, the "Homo sapiens sapiens", the thinking man, the human being.

Everything we know and know comes from the environment where we develop, that is, culture. The environment always influences our physical and mental growth and if we add to this the process of communication and cultural diversity, then it is possible to define that together, the three (Information, communication and multiculture), affect the way we process and we assimilate the information, this is known as infomulticulturalism.

A novel concept that tries to explain the factors that influence the processes of behavior and perception of people in the face of various experiences. The approach can be multidisciplinary, the field of study of infomulticulturalism can be approached from different themes.

For this case, we will analyze the concept of infomulticulturalism in decision-making, its influence and what it means to relate them within a social concept.

“What seems is not always what it is, and what is is not always what it seems; perception creates our own identity ”(Bride, 2012)

Infomulticulturalism as a concept

An official definition, recognized as such does not exist, it is a word composed of three well-studied and well-defined terms: information, communication and multiculture (cultural diversity), we examine each one of them to provide a concrete definition.

information

Information is the content that travels through communication. Without information to process, communication would be impossible.

Information is that set of data or codes with a certain meaning that is structured in the thought of human beings, having the need to be transmitted.

Therefore, the information contains specific instructions, which provide knowledge. The lack of information then is ignorance. For the human being it is vital to "know". Information is an important part of the way we perceive things; Before the human being wondered what was that bright in the sky that provided heat, Huitzilopochtli called it, today because of information, knowledge and communication we know that it is a star in space millions of kilometers away that we know as the sun.

Information, as such, influences our personal decisions, work, school, etc., then, understanding the importance of information as what makes the human being act according to the circumstances, well deserves to be studied.

Communication

Communication is the result of the human being's need to share information that he has previously processed in thought. There is a very broad and deep study of communication processes.

Communication in its most general concept is the action and result of communicating. Communication is to be understood as the process of interaction between sender and receiver that transmit signals through a common code.

The communication process is synthesized as follows:

The communication process

It is considered that we live in the information age, today's society is moved by massive data exchanges, its operation cannot be conceived without the presence of communication, it is the basis and foundation of the streamlined global world.

Culture

The Royal Spanish Academy defines the "set of ways of life and customs, knowledge and degree of artistic, scientific, industrial development, at a time, social group, etc."

According to UNESCO, culture allows human beings the ability to reflect on themselves.

It is in it where we find an identity, as human beings we have the need to have identified with something or someone, this happens when we feel we belong to a group.

Culture will define our behavior and the attitudes we will take at any moment in life. It contributes much of the intellectual formation, the way to relate, behave, act.

Multiculturalism

The interaction of several cultures in a given area, the phenomenon of relationships with each other, is known as multiculturalism or cultural variety.

Cultural variety is all that mix, set of ways and styles of life interacting at the same time, influencing each other. It is easy to identify this interaction of cultures by the differentiation of characteristics; for example, physical skin color, height, hair, eyes, unique characteristics characteristic of certain cultures.

Not only is multiculturalism a cultural catalog, it also provides intellectual enrichment, coexistence with people from a different culture than one's own, undoubtedly influences the manner of behavior, as it opens up to a panorama outside the context where initially we were educated.

Defining infomulticulturalism

Once the concepts that make up the word infomulticulturalism have been analyzed, a more accurate definition can be established.

It is established then that multiculturalism is the process of transmitting information to a receiver based on their cultural characteristics decodes the information from their unique and incomparable perception.

Infomulticulturalism in decision-making

Deciding or not, about anything, is always something that stops us from a fact. Depending on the situation, the available information will be taken into consideration and the best decision will be made according to your own criteria.

The influence of how we make decisions based on the way we process information through the process of multiculturalism always leads to different results.

To better understand this application, it is analyzed by means of a real and objective example:

Stealing is an act of decision, although circumstances may influence making the decision, it depends on a larger context to accept it. Singapore is a developed Asian country, with a high standard of living, regulated by strict laws of social behavior, the penalty with which the robber is punished is by amputating the right hand, in that country a rule of behavior dictates that it is a lack of I respect eating with your left hand, it will always stay under the table. The right hand amputation penalty is that at the time of eating, the one who has paid his sentence will obviously eat with his left hand, his whole life will be condemned to be exhibited for his crime. The amputation of the right hand is the only sentence for thieves.

If this crime is transferred to the West, amputation is far from being an applicable sentence, at most the offender will pay a bond or some time in prison, when he returns to his normal life, no one will know about his crime.

So how does infomulticulturalism influence the decision to steal or not?

We analyze:

For the Singapore citizen, the thought of stealing and how he processes such thought to decide to do so will have to be influenced by his customs, culture and information, he will have to think twice about deciding to commit a robbery, the Asian infomulticulturalism diverges a lot from the western one, perhaps to An American is indifferent to such a decision.

It is interesting how the way we process information based on what we know takes place in decisions, as simple as they seem. In the same way, it must influence the social, political, economic, business, etc.

Therefore, this influence must always be present when making decisions. Deciding is a unique personal action to which our conception obeys.

conclusion

The man, as a thinking being, sees himself in the need to process information and obtain a judgment from it, processes until he reaches the point of concluding his analysis and then the current context in which he operates has to influence the action he will take. This process is known as infomulticulturalism.

The definition of this compound word is not formally recognized, but it does establish the basic principles of human action. There are no rules or principles that establish patterns of behavior based on multiculturalism, but it is clear that there is influence.

The study of infomulticulturalism can be applied from any approach, social, economic, educational, political, forensic sciences, administration, etc., it will only depend on what is sought to be understood.
