10 Reasons why I have not achieved my dreams

One day I had to stop and seriously ask myself this question because I had realized that time had not stopped when I was fifteen when I dreamed of winning the world for myself. After thirty years, he had several projects, aspirations, dreams and unfulfilled goals and he needed to understand how to reach them as soon as possible and with less sacrifice.

So I began to look for work alternatives that would allow me to share more with my family, achieve higher levels of freedom, carry out my favorite activities and contribute to society, all of this doing, for once in life, tasks that I enjoy doing such as composing and perform songs and teach others.

The path towards the realization of my dreams gradually led me along an exciting route of self-knowledge in which the true reasons for my stagnation were gradually discovered, both in my attitudes and in those of others, reasons that became in the unique lessons that life gave me day after day.

The answer to the question "why haven't I achieved my dreams?" It has been answered to me multiple times through different limiting beliefs and self-sabotage responses that only serve to keep us out of mediocrity and light years from success.

These are the 10 reasons why I have not achieved my dreams:

1. For not believing.

Not believing in myself, in others, that a job can work for me, that I can do it, that other people can too, that the money will come, that I will be healthy. Believing, always believing is like the key that opens the door to the road because what we do not automatically believe ceases to exist for us. And if it doesn't exist, we can never see it.

2. For not complying.

The word pawned seems to have lost its value, because we make promises, we set appointments for an hour, a date and then we happily violate everything because in our list of priorities the places vary quickly based on our interests and for this we lose great opportunities, we lose relationships that can be decisive in our future and above all we waste time, which is an impossible resource to recover.

3. For not investing.

We may believe that things will come from heaven and that they will not require our effort or our money. This is completely false and is the most widespread belief. Although it involves great risk, we must always be available to invest to the best of our ability, because investing is like planting: we will always reap in the same proportion. Of course, just as in sowing, it also depends on the terrain in which our seeds fall, therefore we must be prepared to lose, including losing everything and starting again. In this case we will say as Tomas Alba Edison: Many failures in life have been of men who did not know how close they were to success when they surrendered.

4. For not studying.

No one owns all knowledge, nor is there absolute knowledge. Almost everything can be reinvented, rediscovered, redesigned. The paradigm shifts are permanent from generation to generation and that is why we must always study, know, experiment, prepare ourselves with what exists and be open to the new that will exist. Of course, everything within a scale of values that promotes life, peaceful coexistence, love between human beings and the preservation of nature.

5. For not letting me guide.

Throughout our lives certain people appear who have the sincere intention to guide us to the next level and they arrive just when we are ready to take this step. Unfortunately our worst enemy, which is the ego, the need to shout to the four winds that we made them alone without the help of anyone, dominates us and we reject such a precious offer. To grow, you always need a tutor, mentor or teacher who helps us clear the way and step firmly to move forward safely.

6. For following or giving bad examples.

In the last year, through a cutting-edge business that I am developing with my wife, I have learned a new term: “modeling”, which is nothing more than the example we receive from these guides and the one we give to others when we have to guide. This opened my eyes because in the real world, even if some people don't tell you, they watch you and try to follow in your footsteps. Although we do not allow ourselves to be guided by who really wants to help us, we also follow in the footsteps of people who serve as models for us but who do not have clear principles and values. It is for this reason that both our anonymous followers and we constantly live entering dead ends and in endless circles that move us further from our goal.We generally criticize others for what bothers us about ourselves because we expect others to be better than we have been unable to be.

7. For wanting others to have the same dreams.

Freedom is a treasure and as such it must be cared for, protected and practiced daily. It is necessary to understand that we are not and will not be equal. Although it seems that we have the same goals, they really are different, totally different. Many times we make others believe that we share their passion on the same level and this is because we want to be accepted and recognized. In the long run, it turns out that this building collapses because it is on false and unsustainable foundations. Accepting the right of others to dissent and our own to participate or not in an initiative is the principle of genuine relationships where we negotiate our levels of participation in common projects only conditioned by the win-win rule.

8. For not recognizing the virtues of others over their shortcomings.

There is immense power in recognizing the virtues of others, never as flattery but as a process in which we give ourselves the opportunity to know them deeply in order to value their identity. We all have reasons to be praised and none to be judged, this because our virtues are as inherent in our human condition as our defects. When we learn to judge less and to recognize more we grow and forge lasting relationships based on love.

9. For not knowing how to wait.

All nature runs on the highway of time. When a tree is born it is not born big at once. Everything in this process comes on time and does not start one process until the other has been successfully completed. The tree must grow, become strong, mature and flourish before giving the first fruits and all this happens in a predefined time and not before. Knowing how to wait is a rare virtue, but we can all learn it if we pay attention to small changes, if we realize that something is happening, albeit in very small, sometimes imperceptible proportions. Although we do not notice that the universe changes at every moment, we cannot affirm that it is static and immovable.

10. For not wanting to achieve them.

Really the most powerful reason for not achieving our dreams is not wanting to achieve them. This is because when we want something with all our strength and with all our heart, almost nothing can stop us, no sacrifice is so great, no path so long. So the overriding question is, "If I really want to achieve this, am I willing to transform myself into a new person for this purpose?" To see changes in our surroundings we must change ourselves first because everything we want is already there in an intangible way, by transforming ourselves into our desire, we make it visible to our eyes and truly possible.
