Is there life after 50

Anonim

Some time ago I turned 50 and started asking myself new questions:

I am of the generation that entered a company from a very young age, towards a career and retired. It is not my case, when I started to “tell the story” of the company to those who entered, I decided to start looking for a job, but the company where I work at that time had already thought about my professional future.

With almost 40 years, I was unemployed for a month and at the same time I returned to work in another company achieving my dream, my goal: a management. I developed skills and learned a lot by going from a multinational to a large Argentine SME. Then I was not original, create an HR consultancy and my differential was to sell "time" which is what people in companies do not have, and that's how I started my journey as an entrepreneur. I did courses for entrepreneurs, I trained and I continue training. This new professional stage led me to wonder what to do with my work and life experience.

So I thought: it's time to INTEGRATE everything, the two careers, the jobs / positions / tasks that I did and my life experience.

We were talking about yuppies in my time and now we are talking about the generation of Millennials, Gen Z… I propose to call ourselves Professionals 50.0Those of us who have experience, who are able to work collaboratively, who know how to detect profiles of difficult people, our energy is reflective, we learned to live in the present moment, we like to have a leisure time, we have work methodology, we are our own brand, we have common sense, criteria, we know how to relate to others, we know how to look for something, we are updated with technology, we eat healthy, we exercise, we meditate. We have walked, we made friends on the road and we are willing to continue walking, perhaps my pace is slower than at 30, but it is firmer, solid, honest, genuine, generous, empathetic and cheerful.

Finally, we have love towards our profession, towards life, we have worked and lived and we have a lot to offer to companies, universities and society.

In a society that constantly separates, I propose to INTEGRATE and INTEGRATE ourselves, with the sole intention of CONTRIBUTING to the construction of an organic community, having transformed during my first 50 years a small seed that is just beginning to be a tree.
