Intellect, emotional intelligence, creativity and communication for success

Anonim

Our life is permeated by the state of mind and emotionality that has settled in us

We all have an intelligence quotient, some higher than others, but we all have it and from childhood to adulthood we hear that success in life will depend on this coefficient. However, recent studies have shown that those with high intellectual capacity are not always successful. There is another intelligence, Emotional Intelligence, it is the one who opens or closes our possibilities of action in life.

We know of brilliant people in the study who have managed to sink a capital into nothingness and on the other hand there are also those who never finished a university degree and successfully lead prominent corporations. Lucky strokes?

As stated by Charles R. Swindoll "¨… life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% of how I react to that" "We are responsible for our attitudes" and recent studies show that success depends on how we use our Emotional Intelligence to relate to the environment. Control over our emotional self is what allows us to go to success or failure, to take advantage of the opportunities that challenge us and are within our reach.

Daniel Goleman, in his book Emotional Intelligence in Practice, tells us: “The rules that govern the world of work are changing. At present we are not only judged by how more or less intelligent we can be or by our training or experience, but also by the way we relate to ourselves or to others. »It is then time to reflect on ourselves and how we communicate in our context to seize opportunities to succeed.

Our life is permeated by the mood and emotionality that has settled in us. We always have a certain emotionality and in most cases we identify how or why it settled in us. A news item, an event, a certain song, the weather, the couple, the job…. From these emotions we observe and interpret the world around us, because our emotions become the lenses through which we look at the world.

If we maintain negative moods such as pessimism, resignation, sadness, nostalgia, despondency, anger, resentments, frustrations, rages, hatred, heartbreak… those will be the lenses with which we will look at everything that surrounds us and what It is safer that we do not have the disposition to face, with the strength it requires, the obstacles that are part of life.

Looking at the world from these lenses, we will not have the courage to change anything. We will not try new actions and solutions to bankruptcies. Depression and stress will take us as permanent prisoners and we will fall into the negative effect of advancing into a tunnel with no exit, perceiving only the dark side walls, which were always there and against which we can do nothing, therefore… better not undertake nothing.

If, on the contrary, we identify the causes of our state of mind and maintain or change it towards an emotionality of joy, love, optimism, happiness, creativity, entrepreneurship and ambitions to overcome obstacles and succeed in life…. then, these will be the lenses that will keep our self-esteem up and allow us to seek, not the justifications that keep actions away, but the correct answers that the course of life demands every day.

We will be aware of going through tunnels, but accompanied by the consequent effect that by fighting and creating, one advances in search of the exit and the light will be reached as a reward.

Rafael Echeverría tells us that «… we are always in a state of mind, we are not guilty of falling into it, but if we are guilty of remaining in it…» if it is a state of mind that damages us, limits or inhibits our possibilities of action: Let's change it! We know that emotions raise our self-esteem, without of course falling into arrogance, we encourage these emotions, we channel our energy to the positive field because our disposition for action will depend on it.

If we fear change and think like losers, our actions will only lead us to failure. Fear slows down, inhibits, it is not the emotionality to maintain in our times. We have to be able to work in a climate of trust and openness, in teams where with legitimacy and respect we share critical judgments and the creativity, capabilities and potential of the group and where together we set goals in professional and personal life. Thus, we will undertake actions that will lead us to achieve what we have individually and collectively proposed for ourselves.

The opportunity to exist and be each one of us, constitutes a unique possibility, of the chromosomal combination of one among thousands of sperm that managed to reach a single mature ovum in a timely manner. That and not another fertilization occurred and each one of us developed, human, but each one of us different. We are legitimate and special in our difference. That is why each of us have our own unique way of evaluating the world around us. We each carry a world in our hands, we are different observers within the same environment.

Let us not be afraid to face the changes that the opportunity to be living beings gives us every moment. Each day is different from the previous one and different from tomorrow, each break is an opportunity to demonstrate our creativity and ability to find solutions. It is there where our emotional intelligence is revealed.

We own the trump cards in the game of life. For this game let's apply the formula:

Intellect + Emotional Intelligence + Creativity + Communication = Success

Let us use it to direct our personal and professional actions in order to achieve the goals that we propose in life. According to Lao Tse, “He who conquers others is strong; he who conquers himself is powerful ”, let us show ourselves, our work groups, our partner, the family how powerful we are and learn together with them, not only to survive, but to be powerful in the face of opportunity to live and succeed.
