3 Steps to improve your time management

Anonim

However, the essence of time management is not constantly watching our clock, keeping rigid schedules, or completing any task in the shortest possible time. What is really important is making sure that our daily activities, our actions and short-term goals are based on the values, dreams and long-term goals that we want to guide our lives.

It is useless to be efficient in our daily activities if they are not helping us to materialize our dreams or experience our values. Furthermore, it is possible to be very efficient in the development of our daily activities and still be unproductive and experience frustration in our lives.

Einstein said that time is a sequence of events in which these events, these events, occur one after another, from the past to the present, to the future.

This is one of the most complete and practical definitions, since it identifies the basic element or unit of time: events. So the key to managing time successfully is not managing hours, minutes, or seconds, but managing ourselves and managing our actions.

So if you want to start taking control of your time and your life, I am going to suggest the following three steps:

1. Take a piece of paper and a pencil and start by identifying those dreams and goals you want to achieve and are willing to work on for the rest of your life, if necessary. In other words, those things that are really important to you. Make sure that all areas of your life are represented in this list.

2. Assign a date by which you would like to see each of these goals accomplished. Don't worry if this date is two or more years away. Remember that what is truly important will take time.

3. Identify all the short-term goals, intermediate objectives, actions and activities that you can carry out on a daily basis that can help you achieve your major goals. This is one of the most important steps. A great goal that cannot be translated into daily activities does not make any sense, since it is the daily activities that will produce action.

Only if you take these three steps and act, can you be sure that there is a correspondence between your daily activities, dreams, goals and values. Remember that only when your daily activities are in accordance with your most important priorities, can you experience a true balance in your life.
