4 Tips to prevent money from being an obstacle when starting your own business

Anonim

Many of you have written to me commenting that you want to start a new business but money is an obstacle. Although there are businesses that do not require a large initial investment if you have to take into account your financial situation because starting a business worried about money is not the most appropriate thing. So I leave you four suggestions to help you if this is your situation:

1. Save.

In general, it is advisable to have savings that allow you to live at least 6 months (ideally a couple of years) without working. So even if it is difficult to start you will not have the economic pressure that can make you make risky decisions, we already know that making decisions in times of crisis is not the right thing to do. This may seem impossible to you, there are also other options such as borrowing or helping a family member, but what I recommend most is that you start saving. And if you are thinking that it will take a long time, think that the longer you postpone it, the longer it will take. Time will pass the same no matter what you do so better that when it passes you have already saved and do not continue as now.

2. Reestablish priorities.

Sometimes it is not a lack of money but you have other priorities. Many people say that they cannot afford to hire a coach, but then they buy a car, go on vacation, etc. When you really want something, you do whatever it takes to get it and make it your number one priority. Think, if the business or project you have in mind was your number one priority, what actions would you take? What would you spend your money on? Maybe dining out every week wouldn't be that important anymore, or buying clothes and makeup every month, or having cable TV. You decide (remember it is temporary, until you start things up or save enough, you do not have to sacrifice what you like forever).

3. Make sure money is not an excuse to cover up another fear.

It is easy to put money as an excuse, I said before that when you really want something you do whatever it takes to achieve it, so maybe there is something hidden behind that excuse. What are you afraid of? To fail, to success, to be left alone… I already talked about fears in this article.

4. Get ready while saving.

The idea of spending a lot of time saving can seem like a great sacrifice and take away the desire to keep going, but you don't have to stand still while you do it. Start clarifying what you want to do, create your business plan, design your ideal business, find out the steps you have to take, what you are going to need, start creating your website, that will make you motivated and get ahead.

Starting a business or making a major change in your life takes time, money, and earning. There are hard times, but it is also very rewarding and a process in which you learn a lot. I recommend that you make a list of all the reasons you can think of why you want to start that business and the reasons why you deserve it.. Always keep it in mind and do not falter. And above all, stop making excuses, the time is now, so start now.
