About personal will

Anonim

This short article is taken from the book "16 hours to Temper the Self", dedicated to Personal Development and Self-Leadership. It is about the power of the Will in the human Being.

Talking about "will" requires special treatment, since, from my personal point of view, it is one of the pillars of the so-called "success in life".

In Etymology the word will comes from the Latin "voluntas", which has the meaning: "WANT".

In this regard, I ask some questions for us to analyze together:

Have we ever uttered the famous phrase "I don't have the will to do this"?

In general, do we lack the will to do the things we "want", or is it that we really do not want them since we do not make the determination to act to achieve them?

Does fear stop us so much that it ends up dominating our will?

There is a myth that, between the years 1550 and 1600, a thousand Spanish ships that sank in the depths of the Central American Sea, carrying treasures of gold and silver from America.

One of the Spanish ships called “Nuestra Señora de Atocha”, had been destroyed by the force of a hurricane and its precious treasure was swallowed by the waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Mel Fisher (1922 - 1998), an adventurer by birth, had read "Treasure Island" and his fascination as a child made him the most famous galleon hunter in the world. As an advanced diver, he set up a base with other divers, specialists and boat captains in search of the sunken treasures of the Spanish ship El Ato-cha, in the depths of the oceans and seas of Central America.

Mel Fisher searched tirelessly for the salty waters, until his unwavering will and persistence paid off after 16 years.

Three centuries and more than sixty years had passed since "Our Lady of Atocha" sank with the most impressive treasure after the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun, in Egypt.

The Ocean has hidden the most wonderful treasures one can imagine.

The ocean patiently waits in silence for someone to dive into its deep waters and discover its riches.

In the depths of our interior, our treasures of Being also await in silence, where the greatest of our riches is found with which we can awaken our conscience.

The unwavering will is the diving team with which we initiate the most important discovery of our personal history, with the purpose of making it evident.

"The Will is the most powerful driving force than steam, electricity and atomic energy," said German scientist Albert Einstein.

I propose to you to make the determination to turn our illusions into concrete facts; to decide to undertake the journey to what we really want in this life. The will is that force that gives value to the small efforts we make and is the one that helps us, along with faith or self-confidence, to move the mountains, no matter how great they are.

A prominent American religious named Henry Ward Beecher (1813 - 1887), expressed himself saying that "the difference between perseverance and stubbornness is that the former often stems from a strong will to do and the other from a strong objection."
