How to set goals in our life

Anonim

Companies or organizations generally have a business leader who is in charge of the company, and a board of directors that helps them determine its mission and objectives.

It is common for the two sides to meet when a major decision has to be made. The former listens carefully to all members of his board before making a decision on what the company's objectives will be and the most convenient way to achieve them.

In our case, I want to suggest that we use a similar model to develop our personal success plan. Imagine that your subconscious mind is like a great company, a plant that generates ideas, dreams, and countless emotions and desires. One of your most important responsibilities as president of this company is to invest enough time in planning your future, setting goals and making decisions about how to respond to the circumstances you constantly face.

Imagine yourself leading your company meetings, with the seven members of your board of directors. Each of them represents one of the multiple facets of your "being": being professional, intellectual, spiritual, family, being health and fitness, recreational and financial. Each of them has decided to dedicate their lives to protect, improve and develop the different aspects of the facet that they represent and as you can see, each of them seeks to project their wishes or interests, perhaps with a certain egoism, as the most important in your life.

Don't be surprised if, for example, when setting goals, your professional being wants you to focus exclusively on your professional goals, without caring at all about the needs of other areas of your life. After all, from his point of view, your professional goals should be the priority.

Hence, discrepancies and confrontations may arise between your professional being and your familiar being, for example, who cannot accept being relegated to second place, as a result of your desire to succeed professionally. This situation of apparent conflict is made even more difficult when you consider that, deep down, each one of them wants your personal success.

Your job is to listen to each of them and find out what their most ambitious goals and complaints are and take note so that, as you develop your personal success plan, all facets of your "being" are represented there.

If you succeed, there will be harmony in your life, and you will see how it is possible that all these individuals cooperate and work together, providing you with the tools, the energy and the vision to be able to live a full and happy life. But if you do not listen to their voices, it is possible that your plan is truncated in some of the facets of your being and this will generate continuous conflicts between them.

It is possible to succeed without sacrificing any of the areas of our being. It is not necessary to sacrifice free moments for recreation for the sake of the profession, nor is it necessary to forget the relationship with the family to reach a high intellectual level because more time is required for it.

Remember that happiness is a product of success, and this is the result of living in a state of constant happiness. Ignore those who say that 'it is impossible to do everything'. Having a balanced life is not only possible, but it must be your most important goal if you truly want to be happy.
