What you have never been told about how to set your goals successfully

For your business to be constantly expanding, it is essential that you know how to set goals. The problem for women is that they often avoid setting goals, because they do not know how to deal with the negative emotions they feel when setting challenging goals. In this article I share with you how to strengthen yourself emotionally and then how to set daring goals that you can undertake with confidence and security.

It is a fact: your goals, if well stated, will always take you out of your comfort zone and force you to expand to a new level of business management.

So they are exciting and overwhelming at the same time.

In reality, if you want to be successful in your business, you cannot avoid them. If you don't learn to continually set goals that propel you forward, your business will inevitably stagnate.

The problem is that many women look at their goals with suspicion. The reason is very simple: most of the advice on how to set goals and how to achieve them are made by-or for-men.

And those don't work for women.

The masculine formula of facing goals is very similar to that of shooting an arrow: you set a target, you shoot the arrow, and voila!

Women have to overcome various emotional barriers until they can successfully set and reach their goals. The good thing is that it is unstoppable once you have overcome them!

How to deal with the emotions that you will inevitably feel when setting your goals?

One of the strongest emotions will be fear of failure. Do not fall into the mistake of evading your goals - even if unconsciously - for fear of dealing with the feeling of guilt and lack of integrity with yourself for not fulfilling what you had set out to do.

I solve that problem in a very simple way: I don't care!

There is a saying in English that says something like:

"It's better to shoot at the stars and only hit the moon than aim at nothing and always hit it!"

That's my motto! I am always setting goals. Sometimes I reach them, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I get over them.

But they always propel me up and up. My business - and my income level - is constantly growing. I am not afraid of failure, because if I fail, I learn from my mistakes and keep trying.

How to set goals and how to achieve them?

Here is how I do it:

1. I never work alone:

I usually set my goals with the great help of at least one mentor who has already gotten where I want to go. That way I don't run the risk of setting too unrealistic goals, or that lead me in the wrong direction.

In addition, a suitable mentor will transmit a vision for your business that inspires you and motivates you to grow boldly, because they are capable of seeing beyond what you can envision for your business.

2. I set specific goals:

When you write down your goals, be careful not to fall into saying something like, "I want to improve on this" or "I want to grow more on the other."

Put numbers and deadlines. For example, both myself and my coaching students set an income goal every 60 days. So we have an exact figure that we can hope to achieve.

Write your specific goals on paper, put them on the side of your desk and read them every day.

3. I set goals that challenge me:

Although it seems logical, your goal should take you to a new level of impact, of customers, of income and of personal satisfaction. Don't fall into the mistake of setting goals too low, which you know you can achieve without making major changes in your current business management.

Set goals that force you to stretch, excel and grow. Never forget that there is a purpose for what you are doing. God has a beautiful plan for you, and that plan is GREAT!

(Side note: If the business vision you once had is too dusty, take it out and refresh it! You've already made the bold decision to be an entrepreneur, you better live this experience to the fullest!)

4. I make my plan:

One of the magical effects of your goals is that they create an exciting image in your mind. By putting your goals on paper and reading them every day, it suddenly makes what seemed impossible to achieve become feasible for you and the current level of your business.

Now is the time to take action! Again, in conjunction with my mentors, I come up with a plan to reach that new goal, and I get to work!

Ready! You see that it is not so difficult to set and achieve your goals. If you follow these 4 steps, your business will always be growing, and your income too!
