One of the most powerful tools of Kundalini Yoga is Meditation and among its multiple benefits is that of achieving our goals due to its purifying function and the cultivation of the Neutral Mind that is the wise Mind, the objective mind, the balanced mind.

One of the most powerful tools of Kundalini Yoga is Meditation, it has several functions such as cleaning our unconscious, contacting our "best self" but above all the achievement of several of our objectives, learn how here.

What is meditation?

Yogi Bhajan (who brought this Yoga to the West) said that meditation is like the garbage truck, because its purifying power is very great, since it cleanses all the “junk” thoughts of our unconscious, that is, all the thoughts that are there and they are useless to us, then since we have achieved this through a long time of the practice if the meditation is with mantras (sounds of power) these will begin to implant in our unconscious sowing seeds of consciousness, clarity and high thoughts Another way of understanding meditation is as follows:

How does it work?

Our mind releases thousands of thoughts through the subconscious, passing them to the conscious, then emotion is triggered and emotion triggers reaction, this is the process that PATANJALI (One of the first Yogis) describes on how the mind works.

The three minds:

For Kundalini Yoga, human beings have three types of minds that are:

The Positive Mind, the Negative Mind and the Neutral Mind, these three minds are part of the thought selection process released by the subconscious.

  1. The Negative Mind: This mind has a very important function for the human being, it is the mechanism of survival, self-protection, prevention. Its function is that when the thought passes it is this mind that presents all the possible difficulties that this thought poses for the reality of that person, and this is very necessary. When this thought arises and before it manifests itself in action, we need to have the ability to discriminate and see what the consequence of the action that will trigger that thought will be before executing it. The Positive Mind: This Mind does the opposite. Raise the opportunities, see the results, look to the future, project, and that is also necessary, because if we did not have that ability to make the mental projection, we would stay in the same place, so that the positive mind gives us the ability to project, to imagine, to visualize, to launch ourselves to that goal. The Neutral Mind l: It is the intuitive mind, the wise and balanced mind that is not involved, the witness that observes with impartiality. No sequence of thought will succeed until it achieves this neutral, balanced state. This mind, too, represents service, humility, and compassion.

The positive and negative minds have to be in balance. When a thought arises, the subconscious mind will take it, the Negative Mind will evaluate it as well as the Positive Mind, this can create the balance so that we can discriminate that thought and then our Neutral Mind can act through the intuition to consciously guide us to the right action at the impulse of that thought. There are many individuals whose Negative Mind dominates or whose Positive Mind is weak, and vice versa, emotions also play an important role.

This is why by having the constant practice of meditation we will develop the Neutral Mind that is the wise mind that will guide us correctly to the achievement of what we want and will even show us what is good to desire and what is not because it is not convenient to our personal growth.

The practice of Kundalini Yoga includes meditation, there are thousands of them to achieve many things, for example Meditation to achieve great strength, Meditation for a calm heart, Meditation for focus and sweetness, Meditation to completely neutralize tension, Meditation to have nerves strong, Meditation for a healthy personal identity, Meditations to balance the Chakras, and finally a very large number of meditations.
