Character. a powerful ingredient of personal and business success

Anonim

There is a covert ingredient to business success that no one is going to tell you much about. However, if you take this aspect into account, both in your training as an Internet entrepreneur and in the education of your children, the impact you will cause in your environment and in your life will be much greater. If you ignore this key aspect, your development as a person and, therefore, your achievements will be limited.

We are in an era in which everything is instantaneous. Technology allows us to communicate directly with anywhere in the world. We can know anything about any subject the instant a question is asked.

We don't like to wait. If the images in a movie don't move so fast that we can barely capture them, it's boring.

In the same way, we see that the stardom of a great talent is also almost instantaneous. A talent is discovered, developed and boom! it is launched to exploit it to the maximum.

No one is astonished anymore when the 15-year-old star singer, the famous 17-year-old composer or the 22-year-old internet millionaire appears. Great talents that reached the top… too fast?

I am always amazed again when reading the story of Jesus of Nazareth seeing that 99% of the stories about his incredible life refer only to the last 3 years of his stay with us.

Very little is known of his childhood. There is only one account in the Bible, in which the 12-year-old boy Jesus goes with his parents to Jerusalem and shares with the scribes of that time about the Holy Scriptures.

"And all who heard him marveled at his intelligence and his responses." (Luke 2:47)

Without a doubt, a great talent.

If Jesus had lived in our times, he would have risen to fame at age 15 and would have been quite a celebrity at 18.

However, in the Bible we don't know anything else about him until he turns 30!

What happened during those 18 years of your life?

It is known that, according to Jewish customs, no one can be a rabbi (teacher) before the age of 30.

For something it is.

As a mother and educator who firmly believes that a good education consists in the discovery and development of the unique talents, both of our children and of ourselves, I have come to question the speed with which we want to see the fruits of a talent or a gift that God has given us.

I am glimpsing a much more important aspect of our human development, which is often forgotten in the rush to see our talents flourish and reap the fruits: our character.

We have a tendency to overvalue the display of our talents and we attach little importance to the fruits of our character.

Many times a talent does not take long to mature, however, a good character is forged over a long time.

And that happens in silence. No applause and no reflectors.

I am sure that those 18 years of silence in the life of Jesus of Nazareth were necessary to be able to bear the tremendous fruits that he gave in his short public life, which was a great blessing for humanity.

I still think that we should diligently educate ourselves to develop our innate talents. It is a responsibility that we have before God and men.

But don't just focus on knowing more. Sometimes it is necessary to grow more before knowing more.

Aside from learning more, ask yourself, “ What virtue do I want to add to my life today?

More integrity?

More patience?

More humility?

More benevolence?

More generosity?

I am sure that the impact that you will cause as an entrepreneur, in your environment and in your life will be much greater if you approach the education of yourself and your children from this point of view.
