Since time immemorial, man has kept a record of his activities of all kinds, an example of this is found in the cave paintings through which our ancestors graphically represented their way of life, with the appearance of writing, man not only knew new forms of communication, but also discovered new ways to postpone such information, even last century man used paper as a method for storing data, of all kinds, personal, work, business, among others.

Even today in the digital age, man continues to collect information, only today he uses the technological tools for such storage, this has allowed storing stratospheric amounts of data in less space, better protected, but most importantly, quick access. and processing.

In the last century, for example, if a merchant wanted to know how many units he sold of a certain product in a certain period of time, he would have to consult the books and account manually, which would take perhaps a couple of hours or days depending on the amount of information. However, in our era, if a seller requires making a similar query, it would be enough to enter their sales system, type a query in which they specify the product and the period, and as if by magic the report would be generated in seconds.

That sounds great, it is not, but for the resulting information to be truly reliable, it requires loading and optimization processes, if there are no standards for capturing and collecting the information, there will be no system to support the operation. of the organization.

Due to the above, organizations have seen the need to implement various mechanisms and filters in order to seek optimization of the data and thus be able to convert it into information. This document presents the main strategies implemented by some local companies, those who were consulted.

Development

Given that a company will be more efficient the more information is exploited from it and the environment, it should be ensured that there is an adequate flow of it, between each and every one of the areas of the company, in addition to ensuring its reliability and veracity.

Ing. At the moment there is not a comprehensive BI system, but there are several independent systems either developed by the staff of the organization or acquired from third parties. Protection of information: this step is constant since the data at all times They are stored on two hard drives, that is, all the servers are mirrored, in order to protect the information and be able to recover the system in the event of its failures in a faster way.even so, at night all systems and databases are automatically backed up, twice, first they are backed up on the same source server, and later that backup is copied to a dedicated server, with the sole purpose of that if you physically damage the application server, you have a backup somewhere else.

He adds that ICTs, like many other eras, are dynamic and constantly changing, so despite the fact that the hotel has been in operation for more than 13 years, and has maintained practically the same for more than 5 years systems, these are constantly updated, day by day new opportunities are explored, such is the recent case of the incorporation of a CRM, which has an import and export of data from the PMS, for better monitoring of customers and especially in order to get more out of the more than 100Gb of data that weighs its database.

He ends by commenting that one of the key factors for the success of data processing lies in the reliability of the data, which is why it ensures that success is not really in the contracted systems, equipment or services, but in the people, therefore, it is important to make known to all involved the importance of their role.

Conclusions

With what I have learned from doing this field research, together with the discussion table, I can affirm without fear of being mistaken that the administration of information is going to have to be supported at all times, since one of the key factors in the success of IT, consists in the transformation of Data to Information, and the veracity that it may have.

That is why organizations choose a series of techniques and tools to manage and administer in the way that organizational information is more convenient for them.
