You have asked me many times what I see about the sector, when I travel to the United States. In case it can be useful, I add a small and to the point post, which illustrates what is on the rise and what is going out of style in the American market.
You already know that what is done in the USA arrives here 1 year later (before it arrived in 5 years but now we are globalized), so this will come immediately, if it has not already arrived. On the other hand, what I put here is what I see, hear and appreciate in North America, but you can have different opinions and, of course, you can express them freely.
ON THE RISE: Community manager. DOWN: Webmaster.
ON THE RISE: iPhone and iPad. DOWN: Blackberry and PC.
ON THE RISE: Social Media. DOWN: the term Web 2.0, although there are many tools and they are used a lot.
ON THE RISE: SMS (they continue, despite everything).
ON THE RISE: Crowdsourcing (massive outsourcing). DOWN: Coaching (the term has been banalized and it is no longer known who is a serious coach and who is not).
ON THE RISE: LinkedIn and Twitter. DOWN: Facebook (although it is still the most used, people get tired of so many games and so many groups on absurd topics).
ON THE RISE: send CV in podcast (the candidate presents himself) through YouTube. TO.
THE LOW: traditional CV.
