Managerial values and change management in Mexico. self-knowledge and the exercise of the world and I

Anonim

One of the main tasks of the manager is the understanding and understanding that all organizations are human systems, made up of people with a great diversity of criteria and preferences and who will be the ones who will determine with their behavior what changes will be introduced in them.

To carry out a Change in the Organization, the staff must also change: they must acquire new knowledge, carry out new tasks, assume greater responsibilities and very often modify their work habits, their values and the attitudes they have regarding the way of acting in the organization.

In this order of ideas, we can mention that there is a GOLDEN RULE OF THE OFFICER to try to achieve the Change in its Personnel:

" Every manager who wants his collaborators to change, must be willing to analyze and modify his own behavior, their working methods and their attitudes."

One of the essential tools for Change is Self-knowledge.

Who am I and what do I believe in? A tool that cannot be acquired without a serious and honest exercise of personal reflection.

The exercise of the world and me

Ask yourself a problem that can be personal or work and honestly answer the following question:

What have I done, by commission or omission, to further the problem?

We act and think based on our own MENTAL MODELS:

We often turn to JUSTIFICATION to try to explain our failures or mistakes, blaming others for our own responsibility.

Paradigm and values in Mexico

The meaning of the word paradigm comes from the Greek and means: MODEL or Example that serves as a norm…

A social discipline such as administration that is dedicated to the behavior of people and human institutions should not be based on paradigms or laws. The social universe does not have " natural laws" of this kind and is subject to continuous change. This means that the assumptions that were valid yesterday may remain invalid and even be totally wrong just after a moment ”. (Peter Drucker, 1999).

The evolution of our country has been shaping a particular way of being, thinking and acting that, converted into culture, encompasses and influences our actions. One of the components that culture encompasses is appreciation and attitudes towards work.

A researcher on work behavior (Joaquín Peón, 1985), who explored the traits of Mexicans, has pointed out that rather than changing their characteristics, they must be enhanced.

Thus, it presents the following table in two dimensions, Individual and Solidarity:

The true Manager will be able to understand and assume his own idiosyncrasy and will be able to influence to transform the values and attitudes of his collaborators, only if he is capable of changing his own paradigms.

Executives who are based on values will transform the institutions and organizations of the 21st century because, instead of renouncing their values, they assume the responsibility of agreeing with or changing the values of the organization.
